THE HEMALATA ORPHANAGES IN INDIA
The Hemalata orphanages were founded by a private initiative in India, which receives no support from the state.
So far, but particularly in future, they are heavily dependent on help from the outside world.
Mrs. Hemalata, head of both institutions, has made it her life’s work to provide more than 300 children with a place to call home.
The children are between one year and sixteen years old and belong to various religions. They receive full-time care; go to
Kindergarten and school as well as get a attend training workshops. They may remain at the orphanages until the completion
of their professional education. Additional trainings of all kinds are also funded from donations.

but also of what tasks still lie ahead.
